Formed during 2002, the philosophy behind Dire Fakes has always been to replicate as closely as possible the sound and feel of Dire Straits, in many cases using the same or similar equipment to that used by Dire Straits themselves.

Taking their favourite live versions of the songs as the basis for their performance, the band play extended versions of many Dire Straits classics, featuring the more complex arrangements often only found in these live versions. Dire Fakes have been entertaining audiences in the UK and Europe for the past seven years.
