There are no other award ceremonies in the country that acknowledge the quality of British Jazz on such as national and prestigious level as the British Jazz Awards. This has been proved by its longevity and the support it has received for the last 20 years.
The awards were first presented in 1987 at The Grand Hotel in Birmingham and remained in the city until 1996 before moving to London (1997 to 2004). They were brought back to Birmingham in 2005. This year the Awards are being held in Lincolnshire at The Sands Venue, Gainsborough.
